The Salter Scales



This face has worn well.  These scales belonged to my mother when she set up house.  I used these scales when I learned to cook.

Mum was a fabulous cook.  Cooking was something she took pride in and did so well. The fruit for the Christmas cakes was weighed on these scales, as for the Christening cakes and 21st birthday cakes and Wedding cakes and cakes for the shearers.  The scales have lived a full life and certainly lived up to expectations.
