Working Weather

A knitted felted hat in grey and yellow.  New colour for spring.  Still hat weather.

Much of my time has been spent making prop rugs for baby photos.  This one is hand knitted in my chunky merino yarn.

A couple of photos of the floods here last week. It was so wet underfoot I spent the week working inside.

Not the biggest flood ever but got close.

Some Mornings

Up early.  Same most days as I have to get up at 5am on a Sunday to go to the market in Melbourne and I find it easier to get up early every day.  Then Sunday is not such a shock!
So this morning as usual I went to the felting studio which is where the exercise bike lives.  I'm on the exercise bike, hear the baaing and see the hungry sheep.  There is so little grass the sheep are fed every day.

So off the bike and out to feed the sheep.  Ducks were then complaining they had not had breakfast.  May as well feed the ducks.  Postie came so collected the mail.  Dogs looked at me and asked about a treat.  Had better water the veggies as it will be hot again today.  And back on the bike to do my time!

Hoping the cloud cover stays for a while to keep the temperature down today.

Autumn just starting here.

The Golden Egg

These are two very happy and noisy ducks.

They have a very nice yard and pond all to themselves.

And magically one day they laid 3 eggs.  The day before the magic egg we had collected 2 eggs and the day after we collected 2 eggs.

Sheep

The weather has been hot and dry

The sheep have been enjoying eating the grass in the house yard.
And trimming the trees as well.

In the morning they are always ready to go back out to the big paddock.

I have been spinning lots of textured chunky yarn for the Arts Centre Market.

Quince Trees

We have 3 quince trees.

The trees were planted nearly 30 years ago.

This years crop isn't huge

The quinces on the trees are looking great.

Not long now.

Artichoke Colours

Love the colour combinations

Planning a new colourway.

Texture

Already a new plant is growing underneath the bleached flowers.

Summer has been very dry.  Even the dried out flower has possibilities for yarn colourway.
