Cold nights

The sheep are being fed daily as the nights are cold and there is not much grass growth now.

I am going tot he Arts Centre Market tomorrow so I fed the animals early today.

Very tasty hay.

I have been spinning and dyeing yarn for my Etsy shop this week. I have listed new yarns today and will list more early next week.

Enjoy your weekend.

A Wet Wesley Hill Market

Saturday was very wet at Wesley Hill.  This is the view from our market tent early in the morning.  We were dry and our stock was well protected.  On a sunny day the market is busy early and we are set up by 7am.

Wesley Hill is a great market.  Lots of plants, good quality fruit and vege, some excellent bread and hot food for lunch.  There are some treasures to be found as well as our woolly products.  We will be back there on the 5th November with lots of new colours in the sock yarn.

Just Packing

Usually I am packed and ready by now for Sunday's market at Arts Centre in Melbourne.  But I am not.  Yarn (sock and aran) is dry and tea cosies finished.  Need to print some labels before I can finish packing.
Time for a cuppa and then back to work.

I'll finish the echidna saga later - we had disturbed sleep here last night!!!

Where will I see you??

If you are out and about this weekend you will find me at Buninyong Farmers Market on Saturday Morning, the Daylesford Makers Twilight Market from 4pm Saturday and then on Sunday at the Melbourne Arts Centre Market from 10am.  So still plenty of markets to browse for last minute gifts.
I'm all packed and ready to go!!!

This week I have been designing tea cosies, brooches and felted hats.  Yarn spinning is next on the list.

This cosy is the last one finished today.  A colour combination that would suit a vintage teaset.

A mini tea cosy for the mini teapot.
Red and charcoal is a popular colourscheme.  This cosy sold as soon as I put it on the website.  Will make more with a red theme.

This and that

The wind was blowing when I tried to get a full photo of the quilt.  I made it for a special friend Lynda  from   Twisted Violet   and the Arts Centre Sunday Market.  Lynda and Adam  are the proud parents of Liam.  I used some fabrics with farm scenes.  Must look for some sheep fabrics.

Well these two friends are always wanting to walk in an opposite direction to the walker.  Here Mopsy (at back) and Darwin are following the sent of a cat or 2.  Mopsy has just gone off to stay with her breeder as puppies are imminent.  Have a look at at Bluegrace  and contact Jane if you are interested in a puppy.  I really miss Mopsy but I'm happy for someone else to look after puppies!!

This week I'm busy sorting out an application for the Arts Centre Market in Melbourne.  Although I have been there for years like many other stall holders we all have to reapply as the market is moving to St Kilda Road in July.  This is due to the revamp of Hamer Hall.

Colourful Cloud

Lots of fleece has been in the dye pot again this week.  I am packing some for the Arts Centre Market in Melbourne on Sunday.

This is the soft cloud effect when the the fleece is hand carded.  Even though hand carding can be tedious you can separate your colours and plan your spinning.

Three 200gm balls of 8 ply ready to be knitted into scarves.

This morning I met a friend and we enjoyed a walk through the Ballarat gardens.  Well worth a wander if you are coming to Ballarat.

The Week that was!

Last Saturday I was at the Makers Market at Daylesford.  Lots of great stalls and a good variety of products.  The venue at the Town Hall is ideal.  I thoroughly enjoyed the day chatting to other stall holders I hadn't seen for a while.  The market finished at 3pm which is good for stall holders but not sure if it is a bit early for shoppers.

On the Sunday I went to Melbourne to the Arts Centre Market.  Don't need to say how exhausted I was by Sunday night.

This week has been lots of fun.  Brie has been here making a gift for a friend.  The gift involved using my very old Singer sewing machine which did not let us down.  Had better not say too much yet  in case Brie's friend reads my blog.  We worked late last night and I am pleasantly surprised how much of the "gift" was finished by the time Brie got on the train (which turned out to be a bus) this afternoon.  Apparently part of the train track was washed away with all the rain.  We didn't get much rain here today and it is still humid.

I'm off to the studio to finish 3 tea cosies tonight.  They are almost finished so should reach my goal.  Gourmet Farmer is also on tonight and I enjoy that show - must keep an eye on the time.

After the Daylesford market Marilyn from missymaomao.blogspot.com , David and the dogs and I went to Jubilee Lake.  A nice place to relax after a busy day. We sat under shady trees by the lake.  The dogs were reasonably well behaved.  Mopsy is expecting puppies next month.

Northcote Market - November

Next Saturday is the Northcote Market. I love having a stall at this market. You will find me and also Twisted Violet Jewellery http://www.twistedviolet.com.au in the Hall. A great Market for "Hand Made" Christmas shopping.
Look forward to seeing you there.
Shearing is done. I have some photos to upload so will be back later today or tomorrow. I'm madly making stock for the weekend markets, sorting fleece and have some gardening to get done. Now off to post orders and back to the felting studio.

Northside Makers Market

Next Saturday I will be at the Northside Makers Market. I always enjoy the markets at Northcote. Have been busy making some new stock including tea cosies.

My garden needs lots of TLC but some flowers just bloom not matter what.

Have been busy with the tea cosies this week. Pinks & mauves....

...and yellows....

...and blues....

and orange and red.......

I am now going back to the dyepot. Have some yarn to dye for tomorrow's market. No rain so the yarn hopefully will dry outside and then I'll hang it in front of slow combustion stove.

Have Dustteam coffee this week and Ravelry knitting as well. Will be in Melbourne one day with Michele. She is having chemo so we chat while all that is happening. Nurses at RWH are the best, always friendly and caring.
Getting lots of knitting finished so hope to have more tea cosies for the Northcote Market.

A Peek at Sunday's Market

The new stock for tomorrows market at the Arts Centre in Melbourne is packed and ready. There will be lots of 8ply. The windy weather has helped get it all dry this week

There are 8 new knitted and felted hats, these two and a brown, green, camel & blues.

Of course there is Chunky Yarn in reds, burnt oranges, greens, purples and more. As well I have made up some bags of "Bits & Pieces" which some inventive people just love. Think I packed about 5 of these bags which are a bargain and also give you the chance to try different colours.

David and I have just come home from a BBQ at La Lal Falls near Ballarat. Not an elaborate BBQ, just some lamb and rosemary sausages, fresh bread rolls and yummy salad - and a cuppa of course. We took Darwin with us as Mopsy is away with her puppies. Sometimes Darwin is the perfect dog and today was one of those days. He looked longingly at the table but didn't jump up on anything. So proud of him. Have more photos of the lovely Lal Lal Falls area which I will post in a day or two.
