No wonder I enjoy a cup of tea. This is the Bunnykins tea pot I had as a child. Tea parties were quite an event. I have cups and saucers to match although they are small compared to the tea pot
A blog about farm life, spinning, my yarn dyeing, weaving and markets. I live with my husband on a small farm near Ballarat. I have sheep, mostly English Leicester as well as dogs, ducks, chooks and a cat.

Tea Cosy ...or Three
Just love these Jack and Jill buttons.
A new tea cosy for me...but it is an old style my mother had and I think the original cosy belonged to my grandmother. I have made felt using wool from my sheep, then appliqued the elephant. The cosy is lined with a spotted cotton.
This cosy is knitted and then I added felt, embroidery and a carrot or 2.
These cosies will be on Etsy this week.

What You Find.....
What you find when you are cleaning up! I have started sorting family photos. We found boxes of photos when packing up Mum's house. So pleased that she valued family history and kept these treasures for us. It has taken a long time for me to be able to sort through some things and the photos are about the last of the boxes.
There was no way I was ever going to escape from this pram!
This is the house where the photo of me in the pram was taken. Mum and Dad built this house at the end of the war. Mum said that the builder found a few extra bricks and was able to add a small porch. My great Aunts Mollie and Ev lived next door and could be found looking straight into Mum's kitchen window. It looks like our house block was sub divided from the Aunts' block.
Have to stop looking at photos and get an order finished.

Tree with an Elbow
This tree is on the boundary of our property. Well the trunk is on the boundary and the elbow is in our paddock.
This is the elbow resting in our paddock. The tree is very old and I guess a branch became heavy and rested on the ground. Then the branch grew some more away from the trunk. We collect a few bags of pine cones each year.
Trees like this are special and have a little magic about them. At the farm in Stawell we had the "Elephant" tree. My Mum used to take the grandchildren to play under the elephant tree. They have such fond memories of the walk around the dam to the tree. As a child I also used to walk to the elephant tree but always checking that the bull wasn't in the paddock.
On the left of the photo you can see the fence and tree trunk.

Estella's New Coat
Estella is our oldest sheep. This winter has been cold and wet so time for Estella to wear her coat. This year I decorated her coat. No comments from other sheep so far but I'm sure they are very jealous. Estella is easy to spot down the paddock.

Beret and Scarf
Yesterday I finished this beret and scarf for a special customer. The yarn is hand spun and hand dyed merino.
Love some colour in the house
And flowers. We enjoyed some sun today after a frost this morning.
