Daylesford Market on Saturday

The Daylesford Makers Market is on again this coming Saturday.  This market is in the Town Hall from 10am till 4pm.

This is an all natural yarn, a mix of grey and brown.
This is a grey plied with a merino and silk blend in teal and purples.

I am busy spinning some new yarns as it is time to get your knitting started for winter. The orange chunky is a soft merino yarn.

I'll be back tomorrow with some other new colours.

Busy Weekend

It is time to pack for two markets this weekend.  Just a preview of a couple of new tea cosies I have finished.

Love the red tractor although I'm still looking for a grey Fergie!!  New brooches are also ready to be packed.  The brooches have been very popular as gifts to post overseas. Tomorrow's market is the Award winning Daylesford Makers Market.  And on Sunday you will find me in Melbourne at the Arts Centre Market.

A storm has passed through today.  Very heavy rain, then blue sky and now all cloudy again.

Markets Ahead

Next Saturday I'll be at the Daylesford Makers Market.  This is going to be a big market with lots of stall holders.  I have some new tea cosies on the go.

A very busy week here with Japanese farm stay students arriving tomorrow.  I have been madly baking today.  Will be back with some photos.

And next Sunday I'll be back at Arts Centre Market in Melbourne.  Let me know if you are interested in particular items and I will include them when packing.

New for Daylesford and Abbotsford

I am making some new creations for the next Daylesford Makers Market on 2nd October and Abbotsford Arts Market on 3rd October.   A busy weekend ahead at two markets I really enjoy.  Thought some colour for spring would be nice so here is a new orange flower tea cosy.

The tea cosy is knitted using wool grown on our farm.

Hope to see some familiar faces at Daylesford and Abbotsford

I'll have another new stock update in a couple of days.

More water

You can't see the expressions on the faces of my sheep but I can tell you they are fed up with all the mud.  One flood was a novelty but a second in as many weeks is just too much.  The small creek has been dry for years.  Today the flood is keeping the sheep in the top corner and restricting their roaming - so inconvenient!
I went for a walk to take the photos and ended up all muddy even with gumboots - very slippery.

I am very impressed by this bridge.  Bridge you ask??  Our son T built this bridge when he was very young.  It may not have been the perfect bridge but it has been in the creek for a long time.  Our main bridge built using sleepers totally washed away.

This morning I was on my way to the Daylesford Market. I drove as far as Creswick and decided that driving in all this rain wasn't for me. So I came home. I have repacked for the market tomorrow at the Abbotsford Convent. I will travel to Melbourne by train so I need to be organised and pack the stock into one bag.

And now I am going to spend the afternoon weaving and listening to knitting podcasts

Daylesford on Saturday

Almost finished is a new range of tea cosies for my busy market weekend.  I'll be at Daylesford Makers Market on Saturday.  The market is from 10am till 3pm in the Town Hall.  You will find a great selection of stalls at this market and it is always a fun day.  For this tea cosy I have dyed the fabric and added detail with some Japanese ribbon I found in my special stash.

A fish theme tea cosy and egg cosies to match.  The fabric cosies have a wool lining to keep the tea pot warm.

Today I'm working with this fabric.  A colourful pattern of colourful mushrooms.  I will show you my creation tomorrow.
