Ready for Chilly Nights

This week I have made new beds - for the dogs.   I buy hessian sacks and fill them with wool.  I keep wool at shearing time that I'm not going to spin, wash and dry it.  Then I have a great filling for the beds.

The dogs will play tug of war with the beds. They will take them out of the kennels to have a nap on a nice afternoon. Then we have to make sure the beds are back in the kennels before any rain.  Eventually the dogs will make a small hole, which becomes bigger and bigger.  Then we need to have a big clean up after all the wool filling has been removed in another game. And then its time for new beds.

This morning is rather cool for a change.  Dogs do not want to get out of bed. I'm sure thy are very cosy.

Slow Week

Have dyed some yarn..

And knitted one hat and started another.

My knee and I had an argument last weekend and I have spent the week on crutches.  This has certainly slowed me down.  As I'm spending a lot of time on the couch I thought I would knit a hat involving colourwork.  The yarns hopefully won't get tangled.

Animal Life

Mopsy is back after having her last litter of puppies..
She likes a long walk after having a bath.

This is Choc.  He is so gentle and friendly.

The sheep are feeling rather good eating lots of grass.  The shearer needs to be booked for the end of November.

The latest addition.  Well I'm not sure for how long but David found this little hare when he was mowing. The hare is still living here and hasn't found the vegie garden yet.

Spring Pink

The quince tree is covered in blossom.  I think we will have a large crop of quinces as the weather has been kind and we haven't had much windy weather.

I made a pink spring tea cosy this week.

One of the crab apple trees outside my studio.

This is a very old apple tree near the creek.

Early Morning

This past week has been a busy one.  I have been going out tot he studio early.  One morning I watched the fog make interesting patterns between the moon and a tree.

David was moving wood with the tractor - and old grey Fergie.  Rufus always finds the warm spots on cold days.
