Samples

I dyed fleece and pencil yarn. Other supplier's products will be included in the boxes so it will be a great way to touch and test yarns before you buy.

Knitting has been a little slow over the past couple of days as I have been spinning for orders. Tomorrow I am having a day off. Maybe spend some time in the garden, walk the dogs with Brie and knit.

Knitting Week

This is a scarf knitted lengthwise on circular needles. I used Chunky yarn, silk ribbon mohair and 8 ply yarn. All the yarns are hand dyed in mulberry, purples, blues and a touch of rust and light brown.
Have been wanting to knit a neck scarf for ages and finally finished this scarf. I used the softest hand spun grey wool from my sheep and added an orange/rust detail with buttonholes. In the button stash I found 2 perfect carved buttons. Plan the knit more of these scarves with different colour detail. This style of scarf is very warm.

Making

These beautil flowers were waiting for me when I returned from the market last Sunday. I have no idea what they are called. The colours are so subtle and soft I dyed yarn to match!

A busy week dyeing wool and making hats. I made this hat for a customer who just missed out on purchasing a similar hat at the market. This morning I will post 2 hats to the customer. Hats are such a personal item I thought if I send 2 hats there is a choice.

And here is great winter colour mix. This is an 8 ply English Leicester and Corriedale wool blend.

So with lots of work I have stocked the shop again.

On Tuesday Ballarat Dustteam members met for a coffee and a chat. Tuesday night was a Raveller knitting get together at The Boathouse. Must take camera next time.

The Beret & Ike comes to visit

This is the finished beret which looked like a pumpkin. I am very pleased with the result although I didn't write down all the pattern as I knitted. I was making up the pattern when I was sitting in the hospital with David and was sure I would remember what I had done...but no

On the left is Darwin and on the right is Ike. I couldn't get the dogs to stand still for a minute to get a good photo. Too much energy. Ike is to be the future man in Mopsy's life.

Mopsy in the collar

Mopsy had a trip to the vet and ended up having to wear an Elizabethan collar for a week. She coped well but David had to make a verandah on her kennel. It took Mopsy the full week to work out she could back into her kennel.

I make many knitted felted hats so decided to have a go at making a beret. This is the funny pumpkin shape so far but hope the pumpkin will turn into a beret after next lot of felting.

Now that David is home from hospital I am back to spinning my yarn called Curly Fleece. Sometimes I find an extra special fleece and its like spinning clouds. Today I have been dyeing Pencil yarn for a customer and Curly Fleece yarn for the market.

Tomorrow will be a busy day finishing felted hats, labelling yarn, packing for the market and also Jane, Mopsy's breeder is calling in.
