Tea Time

New tea cosies just finished.

Now I'm off to label yarn.  Great drying weather so I can wash the dyed yarn, get it dried and labelled in one day.



New stock for Christmas Shoppers

Each week I make buttons and I need to make extra this week.  Next weekend I will be at Daylesford Makers Market on Saturday and Arts Centre Sunday Market on Sunday.  Great markets for Christmas shopping.

This colour combo of raspberry, pinks and mauves is very popular.  Travellers to the northern hemisphere for Christmas need hats and scarves.



Busy Week

The week has been busy here.  Still more to finish today but after I wind off sock yarn into hanks I'm off to town for coffee. Then home to dye yarn.  Great drying weather today.  Well it will be warm although I can hear some rain on the roof just now.

Finally have a shearer organised.  The sheep keep asking me when they can give me their fleeces.  Shearing is a month late due to the rain.  Need to clean out the shed.

Where will I see you??

If you are out and about this weekend you will find me at Buninyong Farmers Market on Saturday Morning, the Daylesford Makers Twilight Market from 4pm Saturday and then on Sunday at the Melbourne Arts Centre Market from 10am.  So still plenty of markets to browse for last minute gifts.

This week I have been designing tea cosies, brooches and felted hats.  Yarn spinning is next on the list.

This cosy is the last one finished today.  A colour combination that would suit a vintage teaset.

Red and charcoal is a popular colourscheme.  This cosy sold as soon as I put it on the website.  Will make more with a red theme.

Catch Up Friday

During the week we finally went to see the Lal Lal Falls. We often go to the falls for a BBQ/Picnic but this is the first time for ages there has been such a waterfall.  I packed a picnic as it was David's birthday.

The sky has been putting on quite a display.  Cloud formations and colours have been magical.

Within a few minutes the colours and cloud formations change.



Our last group for the year of Farmstay students has been to stay with us.  This time the girls really wanted to send postcards home.  I didn't dare say that they would be home before the postcards would arrive as these farmstays are only for a few days.   The weather was kind to us with the only rain falling on the last morning.

Tea Time at the Market

I have just taken a break from the studio to show you some new tea cosies ready for the Arts Centre Market Sunday on St Kilda Road, Melbourne.  The market opens at 10am and is on every Sunday except Boxing Day.

Red heart tea cosy.  The tea cosies have a knitted lining and are hand knitted in Australian wool.  In fact most of the wool has been produced by our sheep.  Which reminds me that that I must arrange shearing or there will be a noisy protest meeting in the paddock.

Tea Cosies for the Market

The week has been busy and enjoyable.  Brie was home sewing (can't say anymore as it is a gift) and I have been making tea cosies for the Arts Centre Market in Melbourne tomorrow.  The flower topped tea cosies are always a favourite.  This week I also made a Moroccan style tea cosy, a new version of the farm yard,  a beaded fringe cosy and green tea cosies (green is a popular kitchen colour).

Also managed to spin some new yarn which is a mixture of natural brown, dyed merino and silk.

And now back to washing fleece ready for next weeks dyeing.  I have been dyeing fleece which I hope will dry before I finish packing for tomorrow's market.  I have two stalls at the market tomorrow and I'll take some extra stock.

Knit and Crochet

I have a Showcase on Etsy this coming weekend and I have been knitting tea cosies and making crochet flowers and leaves

And I found some gorgeous sheep buttons and a chicken button and a fence.  I looked in more boxes and

I found a house and a red flower and some tiny green and white flowers.

I knited  some daffodils

Northside Makers Market

Next Saturday I will be at the Northside Makers Market. I always enjoy the markets at Northcote. Have been busy making some new stock including tea cosies.

My garden needs lots of TLC but some flowers just bloom not matter what.

Have been busy with the tea cosies this week. Pinks & mauves....

I am now going back to the dyepot. Have some yarn to dye for tomorrow's market. No rain so the yarn hopefully will dry outside and then I'll hang it in front of slow combustion stove.

Have Dustteam coffee this week and Ravelry knitting as well. Will be in Melbourne one day with Michele. She is having chemo so we chat while all that is happening. Nurses at RWH are the best, always friendly and caring.

Getting lots of knitting finished so hope to have more tea cosies for the Northcote Market.
