Cosy time

I have been making a blues tea cosy.  But then  added some gold flowers and some felt and some stitches.

And then I decided to add more on the other side.

And now the tea cosy is finished. I also knitted a lining for the cosy so this one will super insulate your teapot.

Trips to the local.......

This week there have been a few trips to the local Post Office.  I managed to get all the orders finished and the 2 parcels off to the Alice Springs Beanie Festival. The Beanie Festival is for beanies and tea cosies.  Surprised with tea cosies at the beanie festival???  I sell quite a few beanies as hats.

A mix of pinks in this chunky yarn hat.

Yellows and aqua purples.

Lots of rain here today.  Now the rain has eased I'm off to the studio to spin.  This morning I was working on tea cosies.

The Orange Tea Pot

When orange was "the colour" in the 70's I gave this teapot to my mother as a present.  I didn't even think if she would like the colour, I was just sure she would.

This orange tea cosy fits the pot so well.  The cosy will be available at the Sunday Arts Market in Melbourne on Sunday.

the studio @ flinders gallery

From 9th April to 1st May you can visit  the  Melbourne Annual Easter Teapot Exhibition
at the studio @ flinders gallery,   65 Cook  St Flinders, 3929.  You can find more info here
I am making 2 maybe 3 tea cosies this week for the exhibition.  Well you can't have teapots and no cosies can you??
The knitting is done and I have dyed silk and silk chiffon. I have a few ideas to work with the silk and some beads and maybe embroidery.
Tomorrow I have quite a list of things to do, first thing will be a walk with the dogs and then it will be time to work on the tea cosies as well as dyeing the chunky yarn I spun today.

Busy Weekend

It is time to pack for two markets this weekend.  Just a preview of a couple of new tea cosies I have finished.

Love the red tractor although I'm still looking for a grey Fergie!!  New brooches are also ready to be packed.  The brooches have been very popular as gifts to post overseas. Tomorrow's market is the Award winning Daylesford Makers Market.  And on Sunday you will find me in Melbourne at the Arts Centre Market.

A storm has passed through today.  Very heavy rain, then blue sky and now all cloudy again.

Buninyong Makers Market this Saturday

There will be quite a few new tea cosies ready for the Buninyong Makers Market on Saturday.  I was so tempted to be out in the garden today but I worked on the tea cosies.

When I was looking through my treasures stash I found some Liberty fabric I have had for years.  I used the fabric to cover buttons for this tea cosy.

Market starts at 10am in the Buyninyong Town hall.

Hope to see some familiar faces at Daylesford and Abbotsford

I'll have another new stock update in a couple of days.

Daylesford on Saturday

Almost finished is a new range of tea cosies for my busy market weekend.  I'll be at Daylesford Makers Market on Saturday.  The market is from 10am till 3pm in the Town Hall.  You will find a great selection of stalls at this market and it is always a fun day.  For this tea cosy I have dyed the fabric and added detail with some Japanese ribbon I found in my special stash.

A fish theme tea cosy and egg cosies to match.  The fabric cosies have a wool lining to keep the tea pot warm.

Today I'm working with this fabric.  A colourful pattern of colourful mushrooms.  I will show you my creation tomorrow.

Tea Cosy ...or Three

Just love these Jack and Jill buttons.

A new tea cosy for me...but it is an old style my mother had and I think the original cosy belonged to my grandmother.  I have made felt using wool from my sheep, then appliqued the elephant.  The cosy is lined with a spotted cotton.

This cosy is knitted and then I added felt, embroidery and a carrot or 2.
These cosies will be on Etsy this week.

Just a Touch of Yellow

The latest tea cosy just listed on Etsy today.  I'm busy planning my stall for the Stitches and Craft Show on 9th May (at Caulfield Racecourse  - I'm just going to be there for one day) and I'm thinking of making a couple of tea cosy kits as well as other kits for hats and scarves.  So next week I need to have all the planning done and start the action.

Someone told me this a a day lily.  The one plant has been producing new lilies day after day.  A superb colour and there are more lilies to come. This is the third year the plant has flowered, the first two years were nothing like this years display.

On Easter Saturday you will find me at the Makers Market in Daylesford and the Studio Shop on the farm will be open on Easter Monday for those travelling over Easter.

Sunday's Market

This tea cosy is just finished and is decorated with silk flowers, beads and leaves. I even ventured into my basket of Habu yarns to decorate this tea cosy. This tea cosy is listed in my Etsy shop.

Yesterday was a busy day at Southbank. I had been working on tea cosies last week and planning to list them on Etsy. Took photos etc but didn't have time to list on Saturday. So the tea cosies made their way into the market bag when I was packing on Saturday night. And yesterday was tea cosy day at the market. So back to work this week. I have the cosies knitted so the flowers need to be knitted or made using silk fabric. Have dyed some silk this morning.
Taffy and Brie both return from holidays this week. Taffy has been in Vietnam and Brie in Japan. Both have had to send parcels home!!! Perhaps a little too much shopping.
